The Chinese Lunar New Year 2024
Chinese culture has always woven its gaze with threads of wisdom, distinguishing itself by its deep connection with the inner world and the harmony of nature. Instead of challenging it, they choose to dance in synchrony with its rhythms, allowing the vital flow of the universe to gently guide them.
In the loom of time, the Chinese have a calendar distinct from that of the West, a system using the five primordial elements: wood, fire, earth, metal, and water, intertwined with the twelve animals of the Chinese zodiac: rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, goat, monkey, rooster, dog, and pig. In the Asian country, they bid farewell to the Water Rabbit to welcome the majestic Wooden Dragon on February 10th. A revered symbol embodying strength, courage, wisdom, and success according to ancient tradition. The year 2024 spreads its wings, inviting women to dance in a leading role. The Yang energy, which is rational, active, expansive, swift, and luminous like the sun, will predominate in the scene this year.
All beings, from humans to trees, animals, mountains, and seas, breathe in the eternal dance of Yin and Yang, intertwining their light and shadow, creating the symphony of life. Imagine the moment when a wave prepares to break; at that instant, it is being caressed by the warm sunlight as it majestically expands over the sea. In that powerful flow, Yang energy predominates, imbuing it with vitality and strength. But just as the wave reaches its climax and crashes against the shore, something magical happens, it transforms, incorporating Yin energy. In that fleeting moment, the wave reflects the duality of the universe, manifesting its harmony in the collision between two complementary energies.
Although this year will have a very strong empowerment energy in which women will have a desire to act, to carry out our deepest goals and desires, and to expand our Yang side, it is important to maintain balance and continue nurturing our Yin side. Yin relates to passivity, receptivity, and the ability to allow things to happen in their own time and rhythm, as well as taking rest times, looking inward, and finding serenity amidst chaos, following your intuition, expressing your feelings, taking care of your mind, body, and spirit.
This emerging energy delivers a profoundly meaningful message: there is no single right path, nor a single way to live; but multiple possibilities. In our hands lies the power to reinvent ourselves and shape our lives anew.
In these turbulent times, community emerges as a sacred amulet, offering guidance, support, and invaluable rootedness. In a world that moves so fast, with the accelerated growth of technology that connects and disconnects us at the same time, remember to cultivate a space that offers you refuge, warmth, and comfort, that niche of connections where you can share, heal, love, and be part of something more. A concept that goes hand in hand and will be present this year is collaboration; what can you contribute to the world and the lives of others? What is the most loving thing you can do for yourself today, for the world, and for humanity?
Many times we can collaborate by taking small actions, from greeting the doorman of the building where you live, smiling at a stranger, being open to new ideas, and being accepting of others. Collaboration is an act of connecting, creating, and growing and is a reminder that when we support each other, we are stronger and when we recognize and value every human being, we build a meaningful world. At the end of the day, we all sleep under the same sky being illuminated by the light of the moon and floating in the Universe.
The relationship between the lunar cycle and the solar cycle is fundamental to understanding the Chinese cosmology and its relationship with time and space. Chinese years are marked by the lunisolar calendar, thus reflecting the connection with our own nature and the link between humanity and the universe. The solar calendar, which we are accustomed to use daily, is associated with the Earth's orbit around the Sun, while the lunar calendar is linked to the phases of the Moon. According to the lunar cycle, the Year of the Dragon starts on February 10, although the festivities began earlier, and the solar energy manifested itself since February 4.

La cultura china siempre ha tejido su mirada con hilos de sabiduría, distinguiéndose por su profunda conexión con el mundo interior y la armonía de la naturaleza. En lugar de desafiarla, optan por danzar en sincronía con sus ritmos, permitiendo que el flujo vital del universo los guíe suavemente. En el telar del tiempo, los chinos tienen un calendario distinto al del Occidente, un sistema utilizando los cinco elementos primordiales: madera, fuego, tierra, metal y agua, entrelazados con los doce animales del horóscopo chino: rata, buey, tigre, conejo, dragón, serpiente, caballo, cabra, mono, gallo, perro y cerdo.
En el país asiático, despiden al Conejo de Agua para dar la bienvenida al majestuoso Dragón de Madera el 4 de febrero. Un símbolo venerado que encarna la fuerza, la valentía, la sabiduría y el éxito según la ancestral tradición. El año 2024 despliega sus alas, invitando a la mujer a danzar en un papel protagónico. La energía Yang que es racional, activa, expansiva, veloz, luminosa como el Sol, predominara en la escena de este año.
Todos los seres, desde los humanos hasta los árboles, los animales, las montañas y los mares, respiran en la danza eterna del Yin y el Yang, entrelazando su luz y sombra, creando la sinfonía de la vida. Imagina el momento en que una ola se prepara para romper, en ese instante, está siendo acariciada por la cálida luz del sol, mientras se expande majestuosamente sobre el mar. En ese poderoso fluir, la energía Yang predomina, impregnándola de vitalidad y fuerza. Pero justo cuando la ola alcanza su punto culminante y se estrella contra la costa, algo mágico sucede, se transforma, incorporando la energía Yin. En ese instante fugaz, la ola refleja la dualidad del universo, manifestando su armonía en el choque entre dos energías complementarias.
Aunque este año habrá una energía muy fuerte de empoderamiento en el que las mujeres tendremos un deseo de actuar, de llevar a cabo nuestras metas y deseos más profundos y de expandir nuestra parte Yang es importante mantener un balance y seguir nutriendo a nuestra parte Yin. El Yin se relaciona con la pasividad, la receptividad y la capacidad de permitir que las cosas sucedan a su propio tiempo y ritmo, así como tomar tiempos de descanso, mirar hacia adentro y encontrar la serenidad en medio del caos, seguir tu intuición, expresar tu sentir, cuidar tu mente, cuerpo y espíritu.
Esta energía emergente nos entrega un mensaje profundamente significativo: no existe un único sendero correcto, ni una sola forma de vivir; sino múltiples posibilidades. En nuestras manos reside el poder de reinventarnos a nosotros mismos y dar forma a nuestras vidas de nuevo.

Muchas veces podemos colaborar haciendo pequeñas acciones, desde saludar al portero del edifico en el que vives, sonreírle a un extraño, estar abiert@ a nuevas ideas y ser aceptante con los otros. La colaboración es un acto de conectar, crear y crecer y es un recordatorio de que cuando nos apoyamos somos más fuertes y cuando reconocemos y valoramos a cada ser humano construimos un mundo lleno de significado. Al final del día todos dormimos bajo el mismo cielo siendo iluminados por la luz de la Luna y flotando en el Universo.
La relación entre el ciclo lunar y el solar es fundamental para comprender la cosmovisión china y su relación con el tiempo y el espacio. Los años chinos están marcados por el calendario lunisolar, reflejando así la conexión con nuestra propia naturaleza y el vínculo entre la humanidad y el universo. El calendario solar, o sea, el que estamos acostumbrados a usar diariamente, está asociado con la órbita de la Tierra alrededor del Sol, mientras que el calendario lunar está vinculado a las fases de la Luna. Según el ciclo lunar, el año del dragón arranca el 10 de febrero, aunque las festividades comenzaron antes, y la energía solar se manifestó desde el 4 de febrero.
